Your Time to Talk!

Its ok to be nervous!

I have worked with children and young people for many years and they all tell me how nervous they felt on their first day.  It is really quite normal and nothing to worry about.  I will not be putting you on the spot and getting you to tell me your whole life story, on our first session.  I usually like to get to know something about you and your hobbies/school or family. You can ask me about my work and we will explore some of the things that you would like to do during your sessions. And if you don't know, that's fine too , we will make it up as we go along!

Its not a quick fix!

It is easy to think that once you have had a few sessions, things should be better, but that's rarely the case. Working towards any goal takes dedication and time. Hopefully you will start to notice subtle differences after the first few weeks. Remember, these sessions are confidential and I only have to talk about things outside of our session, if I feel you are at risk of harm. Keep going, even when it seems pointless, you will get there!
